Initial Visit

We will require you to fill out our New Patient forms. You can download the forms here: New Patient Office Forms

Consultation:

Next you will have a consultation with the doctor to determine if chiropractic can help you and meet your health goals.

Exam:

If the doctor decides that they can help you, a complete chiropractic examination, including a posture check, range of motion testing, a neurological exam, specialized diagnostic testing and a spinal scan will be performed, based on what is needed. The doctor will often start care right at your first visit.

Your Second Visit:

The doctor will go over your report, results of your scan and/or x-rays and discuss recommendations for care, after which a treatment & adjustment will be provided.

Adjustments

Adjustments

Diversified Manual Technique:

The diversified technique is the most commonly used adjustment technique by chiropractic doctors. Diversified is characterized by a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that corrects misalignments in the spine and joints which cause nerve interference in the body and restores proper movement and function. This is the manual adjustment that you have probably heard of!

Low Force Instrument Technique – Arthrostim:

This is a low-force specific technique that gently corrects spinal & structural systems. Treatment can be directed at any type of structural or functional imbalance and also has a protocol for cranial bone adjusting.  This technique can be used standing, sitting or laying down to be able to correct misalignments with and without gravity acting on the body. This technique uses a handheld adjusting tool known as an Arthrostim which produces a gentle tapping motion used to correct misalignments.

Activator Methods:

This technique uses a handheld instrument that has been designed to deliver a controlled light thrust that is applied to the problem area. Activator adjustments are precise and suitable for all types of patients ranging from newborns to seniors.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture

Contemporary Acupuncture uses small thin needles that are inserted into various points in the body, including hands, feet and scalp, and left in place for a period of time before removal. At times, a small electrical device may be attached to one or more needles to aid in the treatment. In contemporary acupuncture, your chiropractor treats you only after a conventional medical/neuro-functional diagnosis has been made. The doctor will use acupuncture as a treatment modality along with other chiropractic approaches, as needed. Acupuncture treatments can help decrease pain and muscle tension, improve mobility, flexibility and overall general wellbeing.

Diagnostic Testing

Surface EMG Spinal Scan:

The spinal scan technology we use in our office helps us detect areas of nerve interference and muscle tension that lead to pain in the body. The scan will measure your function structurally and muscularly during everyday life, as well as thermally, which is an indicator of deeper inflammation in the body.  It also allows us to document and monitor your treatment results. These tests do not hurt and do not utilize any needles, electric shock, heat or x-rays. With spinal scans, you are able to see the changes that are occurring within your body, the healing that is taking place, as well as any other problem areas or dysfunctions that may arise (even if there is no pain yet). It will be easier to understand the amount and type of care you need to benefit for both short term and long term results that you are looking for.

Gait Scan:

The Gait Scan is a state of the art technology which helps to assess and analyze your feet, the way you walk and how you distribute your weight during your every day activities. It helps to detect abnormal foot alignment and gait issues which could be corrected with custom made orthotics.

X-rays:

If x-rays are indicated the doctor will discuss this with you. X-rays can help to confirm your diagnosis, provide a prognosis of your results and help the doctor design a treatment program that will help you get better faster.

Disgnotic Testing
